Excerpt From The Africans: A Triple Heritage
Yesterday in my post Ali A. Mazrui: Intellectual and Romantic, I mentioned his documentary The Africans: A Triple Heritage. On YouTube I was able to locate an excerpt from the 9 hour documentary where Dr. Mazrui explains why Africa has failed to advance technologically. I am sure there have been many changes since 1986 when this series was produced, but Africa still lags behind many places.

Your blog is very inspiring and informative. I was in Peace Corps in Botswana, which was an incredible experience. I would love to visit your country one day. As one from the African diaspora, my heart feels a lot of warmth for the Motherland.
Hi, and thank you for adding me to your blogroll! I'll add your blog to mine, it seems very interesting!
Kind regards,
Basje from the Victorian Era blog
Hi Basje,
Thanks for dropping by. As an English major nurtured on British Literature, I find your blog fascinating, and will be making comments there in the future. I am also a big fan of many BBC dramas set during the Victorian period.
It is an unfortunate situation in Africa. But the West works in mysterious ways. Currently we have an Indian and Chinese economy rapidly developing and putting strain on the the world's resources. Even though Africa produces alot of the world's resources, western countries only want them to produce, stay poor and supply the west. The world cannot afford a wealthy and Independant Africa.
Who is to blame? Governments, corrupt politicians, multinational companies and the insatiable demand for resources by the consumers of Western countries.
Informative video...
